Day 17 - OFF to Mediterania

Hello friends,

I am here to tell you that I will be absent for the next 12 days. I'll be flying to Madrid via Dubai, then to Zaragoza, Barcelona, Andorra, Lourdes, Nice, Monaco and will be flying back from Paris. I will accompany my DH to those amazing places. It's a business trip for him and the wife should come along. We will be another 4 couples. In Paris, DH will join a meeting in Schlumberger. Yes, he is a Petroleum Engineering in oil company in Indonesia.

I'm quite sad that I won't be able to make cards to fulfill my wish for "A Day A Card". In those places, I presume there's no craft stores. I asked my French friend, she said she has all the crafts tools by buying online. Well, I think it's time to forget a bit about crafts and enjoy the trip, the scenery and the beauty of each place.. Moreover, it's a good time to rebound the chemistry between me and my DH. Hahaha...

So, before I go, this is my card for today. As I ever mentioned in my post in the past, I adore Dawn McVey's creations. I occasionally make cards just like hers; or just got the sketch and used the stash I had. So easy but pretty (in my eyes.. LOL). This one was also inspired by her card using this stamp set.

Suplies: PTI Stamp set

And these are the details on the "stamps"

Thanks for viewing my creation. Meet you again in February 5. Bye, friends....

Day 16 - Wishing you happiness

Happy Chinese New Dragon Year

Hello,

How's the celebration in your place? Was it festive? In my town, it's so wonderful. I could see the "Barongsay" and the "Liong" (dragon), coming in and out the Chinese stores in China Town. So crowded and so fun.

Here is the card I made today. I love the image. This and yesterday's stamp came just in time. I am soooo glad... I used glitter glue on the 'barongsay' mouth and eyebrows. So cute, right?

This is the closer look on the image.

Look at the charm I used here. It's a fish. Hehe.. I think the Chinese cooks fish, too, on that celebration day.

Once again, wishing you happiness always... Happy Chinese New Year for you who celebrate it.. ;D

Day 15 - Celebrate - Chinese New Year Eve

Happy Chinese New Year Eve

Hi friends,

It's my debut in violin!! Voila, after 4 months learning this instrument, I got a chance to show my ability in public. It's Yamaha Music Concert. It's a great time for me.. What do you think? I start learning this at the age of 44+.. Never too late to learn, right?

And, as I promised yesterday, this is my card for today. And I showed you this very cute stamp. Oh, in love with this.. This is one of the newest stamps I received yesterday. Just in time for the celebration. I don't celebrate this event. But, I live in a town where there are many Chinese live here. I use a gold card stock. The ornament of the mizuhiki is the one I got from a Japanese envelope. So pretty, isn't it?

Supplies: SS stamp; Mizuhiki cords; Copic.

This is the closer look on the stamp.

Have a celebration, my friends...

Day 14 - Whether it's the best times or..

Hello friends,

Today was absolutely the most hectic day ever this week. Ohh... even I could manage myself to make the card after dinner time.. ;D And it's only the simple one. My mind keeps flying everywhere, to the tomorrow concert, to the trip to the mediterania.. It seems 24 hours a day is not enough. Hehe.. But, I remember the verses in the Bible, in Matthew 6:34 - "Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient." Then I feel relieved, and took my time to relax by making a card for today.

This is my simple card.

Supplies: Hero Arts stamp; ribbon

Thanks for looking, friends. And for tomorrow... I will show you a card with an image of Chinese New Year eve.. Wootwoot.... Just wait...

Day 13 - Just a little note

Hello friends,

Meet again. Oh my.. It was still in the morning when I checked my yahoo emails. I checked to see whether there were still participants sending me the image of their cards to join the challenge I conduct every month in my Facebook account, Dwita's Crafty Crafts. Then I found an email from Dawn, telling me whether I am interested in becoming their DT. Wow! What a surprise. Of course, I want to.. Wootwoot.... Soo glad... It's a challenging, though. Because usually it is me to conduct my own challenge (without any DTs..hehe), and now I have to make creations based on the theme given to me. Thanks Crafting For All Seasons for this wonderful chance.

It is still a busy day, practicing violin for the concert this Sunday, accompanying the kids to practice choir for their performance tomorrow morning, having my hair cut.. LOL...

I made this tags in the morning. The leaves stamp is actually not new, but this is the first time I used it. So pretty. And the sentiment stamp (that I chose randomly from the drawer) seems to tell me about the notice from that blog. Take a look...

Supplies: PTI tag die, sentiment and leaves stamp; Carla flower punches; The twinery marraschino

I'll meet you again tomorrow. I need to take a rest for tomorrow, as so many things to do, to attend and to take care of.. Bye now.. ;D

Day 12 - Happy Valentine's Day

Hello friends,

I am not a Chinese. I, actually, don't celebrate Chinese New Year, of course.. But, I live in a town where the influence of Chinese tradition exists. C'est pas grave.. J'aime bien ca.. I like all cultural traditions. So, my daughter is going to join an event to celebrate that day. And me, join my DD to practice singing.. I just managed myself to make this card this late evening in my craft room. I made this card for a valentine card exchange program held by Anita in Hero Arts Flickr group. My card will fly to Robin Kubasik in New York, USA. I used all Hero Arts stamps from 5 sets. I used Victorian Velvet distress ink. Love that color on this pink card stock. These are my favorite combination of pink. And the sentiment was stamped using Rich Cocoa Memento ink.

Supplies: Hero Arts stamps; PTI label and tag dies; Heart punch; The twinery twine; some blings and big button

This is the closer look on the elements: The big button is one of my favorite embellishments, besides the half crystal and half pearls. But this kind of big buttons has been forgotten for long. Yesterday I needed something 'bling' and big. Voila! I found this pretty thing.

And together with the envelope:

Challenges:

MTTC - # 171 fave embellishment. (25/01)

Truly Scrumptious - #72 Something Forgotten (23/01)

Creative Inspiration - # 146 Fave color + white (23/01)

Papertake Weekly - Buttons, Bows, Bling, Bloom

So tired, and need good rest. Good night from here, but have a good day to you all...

Day 11 - Hello Friend

Hi friends,

I couldn't make a card in the morning as usual. I had to go to the radio to record the English Corner program. I recorded 2 scripts for two times. It took me some time in the studio. Then after that, I had to join ladies' program, that is to attend the ceremony of inauguration the chief of the ladies in the sub housing complex. So far away, 45 minutes by bus. I arrived home at about 4.30 in the evening. I took a rest for a while and then I went to the gallery to make some cards. So, for today, I made a mini card just a quarter of the A5.

Supplies: SU! embossing folder; CD leave die; Paper Shaper punch for the layered flower; The twinery twine; Hero Arts sentiment stamp.

See you again, friends...

Day 10 - The Time Is Always Right

Hello friends,

I was fully hooked yesterday with some activities that I couldn't post this card. It should be posted yesterday. I made this, because I had done a little "scarf" from three colors of twines, and really wished to put it in this dress form die cut. At first, I wanted to do a monochromatic card. But, I was interrupted by the red color. Added another leave die cut and buttons. Too crowded? Here it is

Supplies: B&W pp from 7Gypsy; PTI dies for the dress form, the tag 5 and the fence; DC leaves die; Hero Arts Time stamp; MFT sentiment stamp

Thanks, friends. See you again very soon for today's card.

Day 9 - Creating Yourself

It's me again,

I just finished making this card. Doily is my favorite thing in making card, whether the real doily or the stamped one. To promote the circular tag in my petite crafts gallery, I made this card. And the pin.. oh, it's so easy to make. I just used pins and added two pieces of little charms. Glued them with the strong glue. The sentiment itself is so versatile. I can use it for any occasion. Do you agree with that sentiment, don't you?

Supplies: PTI dies: Tag 5, Christmas tag and butterfly; MFT sentiment stamp, Cheerylynn design for the doily die; CB embossing folder distressed stripes.

The closer look on the elements:

Thanks for looking friends. See you again tomorrow. Keep me in prayer that I can make a card a day, as I committed for that.. Hehe...

Day 8 - You Fill My Heart With Love

Hello friends,

Again I didn't post this card yesterday. The wi-fi was not working so well yesterday. You know, on Sundays, I stay at home after church, not going to the gallery. And yesterday, I had a siesta. hehehe... Wonderful time to recharge all the energy.

In this card, I used pale grey card base. Did some embossing on the first layer on the base card. The stamp of love is the free gift that was attached when I bought a card magazine last year. This time seemed the right time to use it. In the pack, there are 3 love shape stamp. So lovely. The sentiment is actually not for this Valentine's day ambiance. But it fits, I guess. The small punched hearts, I think, a little bit playful with the twine there.. So, this is my card.

Supplies: PTI mat stack 5 die; MFT sentiment stamp, The Twinery Maraschino twine; heart stamp from the Card Making mag; PP I forgot the brand; white pen that I bought in the store in HK.

And take a look on the elements on this card.

Challenge:

Day 7 - Thinking Of You

Hello friends,

It's a tiring day for me. I got a backache, and couldn't do much things. I've just been massaged and I feel much better now. I managed to make a card for today. It's about white and white with a little other color. Lovely. Take a look.

Supplies: Stampin Up! Lattice embossing folder; Mat Stack 4 from Papertrey Ink; Hero Arts stamp for the flowers and the sentiment; pale pink ribbon and blings

Day 6 - Make Every Moment Count

Hi friends,

This is the final post for today (the 3rd..LOL). Today is the 6th day of the commitement "A Card A Day". I happened to put Dawn Mc Vey's blog in my blog under the heading Challenge Blogs. She works adorably on all her creations using Papertreyink products. Along the way, I found the name Maile Belles on her blog. I surfed her blog and found 'wow' creations of her. This card was inspired by her card. You know, I am not a kind of person who can get the idea just like that. I need inspirations a lot. Here, I used my newest stamp from Hero Arts. Take a look.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamp; buttons

Day 5 - Wake Up Every Morning

Hi friends,

I'm back again for today's post. I'm happy to receive a package from PTI. They sent me the dies I ordered; old and new reveals from the stores. What amazed me, I didn't need to pay the Customs charge. And what amazed me most was that PTI also gave me a stamp set of "Thanks" along in the package. And you know, it's written "Limited Edition". And I just read in one of the DT's blog that this stamp was only produced to be given to the 1,500 customers who buy December Release and it is not for sale. Ouch.... pinched myself, and it's real!! Thanks so much, Nichole... Shall order the heart border, then, later on.. LOL.. shopping never stops. Somehow, the stores where I purchased my craft things are generous stores; Simon Says Stamp, The Twinery, My Favorite Things, Cheerylynn Designs, Ohmycrafts...they are so generous. Hehe, so many stores? Yes, love them all.

Today is the sixth day of "A day a card" commitment (don't get bored I mentioned this many times..). It's just a CAS card. Love the sentiment. It's a free gift from MFT Stamps. And the girl stamp is from Penny Black. Ohlala, pity her, it's the first time I used the stamp. It was kept that long in the drawer. So, this "A card a day" will force me to find more left-behind stamps and use them to the most. So here is my card. Take a look.

Supplies: MFT sentiment stamp, Penny Black girl stamp, ribbon

Ok, friends, until tomorrow.. Have a fabulous day.

Day 4 - Just Saying Hello

I used it and even shared the result with some friends. On the envelope below, I also stamped the PTI leaves. I send this card to my Flickr friend in the USA, Arlene. Hope she likes it.

Hi friends,

I had a wonderful morning in my craft room. When I entered it, it smelled lavender... Oh, the bag of lavender from Jacqueline still smells so nice. It lifted up my spirits (or excitement?) to make more cards.

Today is the third day of the commitment "A Day A Card". So, this is my card. A simple one, one layer card.

Then I made another one, with this embossed cardstock. I used my new embossing folder from Stampin Up!. As I said in the previous post, it's not that easy to get anything from Stampin Up!, as I live in Asia. So, I'm so grateful for having this one.

Day 1 - Life is too short ...

Hi friends,

Starting today, I'm convinced myself (wootwoot..) to make a card a day... I know it's such a ridiculous resolution in this new year.. But, why not? The title of the album in my facebook is "A Card A Day Keeps .... Away". It's from a quote "An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away".. Hehehe...

So this is my first card for this album.

Supplies: CB Houndstooth to emboss the white cardstock, PTI Stack 2 for the marron label and the leaves, felt flower, sentiment stamp is from MFT (a free gift ;D)

Thanks for looking, friends..
