Meet again.
Indonesia is in grief. Yesterday, there was 6 bombs exploding in Jakarta. Several people were killed and wounded. We were so sad that this happened. Mr. President actually visited Cirebon, a city where I live. I didn't see him, but there was a very hectic traffic. And when there was a breaking news about the bomb, I could hear helicopters came and went. We do hope that terrorism will stop. Hope the families of the killed and wounded people stay stronger and hope only to God. And hope the government knows exactly what to do.
Well, it is not a coincidence that the theme for today is Exploding Box. This is the first time for me to make this kind of box seriously. Actually last year I made one as a sample for the students to make. This time, I wanted this box to accommodate the Christmas family pictures. But they were not ready yet. So in the meantime, I put in ATCs I received from the swap in the WhatsApp group: WLC - With Love Crafting (later, I'll change the heading ATC, and insert the family pictures). That meant, for this box, I had to put two themes: Christmas and Friendship as decorations.
I used the papers from Teresa Collins for inside and outside. I love the colors. Black and white with some neutral colors. The die cut of ATC is from Memory Box. The tree die cut is from Sizzix Tim Holtz. The edges of the lid were covered with the black paper punched with MS border punch. You also can see that I added the base under the box. It would give more strength to the box when lifted.
Take a look at the top of the lid below. I found this words from other pattern paper.
Yeah... Good friends are like stars. The paper from TC also shows you the stars. I also added the star die cut from Sizzix Tim Holtz.
Here are the pictures of each side of the box from outside. Well, I don't want to make this box so boring with black and white. That's the reason I added all the sentiment papers were from Kaiser Craft.
This is when I open the lid of the box.
On each side (there are 4 sides) I made a pocket. There are 4 pockets here. Each pocket can accommodate 5-6 ATCs. Beautiful ATCs from my lovely friends. Take a look at each pocket below:
On each pocket I added poinsettia leaves die cut. Actually it was a circle wreath. I divided it into 4 parts.
What do you think? Adorable, right? It's another way to collect the ATCs in a neat place.
And voila.... This is the middle of the box. So cuuuuute..... The first one from the front, and the second one from behind.
Let's take a look at these cutie pie closer.. I made these cute dolls from wool. They are quite small. The height is only about 10 cm. They fit in a box made from 12 x 12 in. paper.
On the base, I glued some Flower Soft Vintage Christmas
They look like good friends who are chatting. Yeah.. that's what we always do every day in the WhatsApp group: chatting. About what? About ANYTHING. You name it.. :D
Do you want to see how I took these pictures? Don't laugh...
I needed good light. So I took the pictures in the swimming pool. The pool itself was empty as it was still being repaired.
In other words, I had so much fun making the box as well as had so much fun taking its pictures....
Hope you enjoy the pictures in this post. See you again later.... Happy weekend, my friends...
